Since a lot of our clients ask, about disk space usage under their cPanel account we will let you know how you can force update the disk space usage as an end-user.
The steps are as follows:
- Log in to cPanel
- Got to File Manager and make sure you have hidden files show enabled
- navigate to /home/youruser/.cpanel folder
- Find the folder datastore and rename it to something else, like datastore.old
- Now you can check disk space usage and cPanel will refresh with current data.
Keep in mind that when you delete files under your account, you need to check if “trash” is where those files are transferred instead of getting actually deleted. If that’s the case cPanel will still count those files when it calculates disk space.
